About the Internship...

Monday through Thursday I will be fortunate enough to be interning with Defence for Children International. My position is Fundraising / Executive Assistant. My tasks will include:
-fundraising and reporting duties
-grant research - build up and editing proposals
-help with the budget framework
-collection and writing of financial reports to donors
-assist with presentations of projects to donors
-assist with reporting membership fees
-prepare our seminar in November
-help the director to structure things - workplans, log frame analysis, etc.
-other necessary tasks such as administrative help (e.g.: invitations)
"Defence for Children International is an independent non-governmental organisation that has been promoting and protecting children’s rights on a global, regional, national and local level for 30 years." All DCI national sections are grassroots organizations. DCI believes in the importance of local action in producing positive change in the lives of children. They Develop programs specific to the individual need of the community. I will be working at its International Secretariat in Geneva, Switzerland. I will also be taking a class on Swiss history and culture.

I am hoping to travel around Europe while I am abroad! Any tips, advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks for all your help!

    Looks like you're going to be doing some amazing things, and I can't wait to read all about them! As a fellow soon-to-be intern abroad, I'm sure we'll have a lot of funny experiences in common :)
